It’s about connection.

Connecting the MCDCC with the voters we serve

What I’ve Done So Far

In 2025, I led the development of off-cycle voter outreach programs—that is, knocking on voters’ doors to find out what matters to them or inform them about upcoming events without asking them to vote a certain way. In the 2024 general election, as Precinct Organization Co-Chair, I worked closely with Maryland Democratic Party organizers to connect MCDCC volunteers with statewide efforts to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

Goals for 2026-2030

During general elections, collaborate effectively with the Maryland Democratic Party and our nominees’ campaigns to elect Democrats at all levels

Increase Democratic turnout in the primary and general elections, especially in districts where turnout has historically been low

Continue developing off-cycle outreach opportunities for MCDCC members and volunteers

Continue training our volunteers on why off-cycle outreach is important and how it’s different from voter outreach at election time

When the MCDCC is filling a vacancy in the state legislature, establish text-banking to efficiently notify many more residents in the affected district

Connecting our ideals to action: taking the practical steps needed to turn goals into reality

What I’ve Done So Far

I find out what needs to be done, and I do what I can to make it happen. To name just one example, last fall, I proposed a much-needed update to MCDCC rules allowing exceptions to our policy of remaining neutral in school board elections. Because of my efforts, we can oppose right-wing school board candidates in the 2026 election and beyond.

Goals for 2026-2030

Support implementation of a monthly low-dollar fundraising program by mid-2027, creating a sustainable source of revenue to fund the MCDCC’s mission

Help build our social media presence to reach more voters with information about how and why to make their voice heard

Continue proactively looking for ways to improve the MCDCC’s processes and increase transparency

Connecting with new volunteers who want to join our fight against authoritarianism

What I’ve Done So Far

As Precinct Organization Chair, last year I recruited nearly 50 new precinct leaders: grassroots organizers who make an ongoing volunteer commitment to the Montgomery County Democratic Party. I led a revamp of the materials on our website and established monthly orientation sessions for Democrats who are interested in applying but want to know more.

Goal for 2026-2030

At least one precinct leader in 90% of Montgomery County’s 250+ precincts by 2028

Connecting with, supporting, and retaining our dedicated and experienced volunteers

What I’ve Done So Far

I have expanded the role of precinct leaders on the Precinct Organization Committee, shared more information with all precinct leaders, and organized meetings for precinct leaders at the county and district level.

Goal for 2026-2030

Maintain an annual retention rate of around 95%
